Amp Auction Description: 1958 Fender Tweed Princeton Amp. This amp is 100% original right down to the Caps. The handle has been replaced, and likely one or more tubes have been replaced, but that's it, all original otherwise. This means original transformers, caps, power cord, grill cloth, tweed, speaker, speaker cone, etc. etc. The condition is "well loved." I say that because this tweed Fender absolutely screams. What tone! Like a tweed Champ but with just a little more power, same amazing tone.This amp strikes me as one that was used a fair amount, but has never had any service problems. This is a great example of why Leo's tweed amps are so highly regarded. Not much more to say, the tweed covering is tattered here and there, but no structural damage or any funny business inside. Remarkably, the decal numbers on the face plate are in excellent condition though there is some rust and pitting. Date code on tube chart is HE.You cannot go wrong with this amp if you're looking for a smaller tweed that'll give big tone without bringing the cops to your door because the neighbors are complaining about your Super Reverb. It's not as collectible as it would be if it was cleaner, but this amp looks at you and says, "play me." Although worn, it's tastefully so, not ugly. No really bad stains, no excessive dirtyness or bad smells... just lotsa love. Bid confidently, this is a good one. See my other auction for a baffle cut for a 12" speaker if you want to swap it out for more volume while keeping the original safe. (The standard speaker is 8").Oops, I just realized there is no photo of the inside of the chassis. I will add that on June 1. All of the original orange Astron filter caps are present.
