Amp Auction: Vintage 1963 Fender Bassman 6G6-B Amplifier Head

Vintage 1963 Fender Bassman 6G6-B Amplifier Head Amp Auction Description: DetailsVintage Fender 6G6-B BassmanYou've just stumbled about one of the greatest amps ever built: a Blonde Fender Bassman! Its tone will send you over the moon. This little beast pumps out about 50 watts from 2 x 5881 power tubes. It has 4 x 7025 in the preamp section. This is also the more desirable version with the solid state rectifier. It has two independent channels each with two inputs and their own volume, treble and bass controls. There is presence knob as well. It has a great vintage relic look but it is fully operational and really cooks when you turn it up. No need for any effects to fix your tone on this one. Plug straight in and it puts an instant smile on your face. As you can see this may not be in closet classic condition but it still has it where it counts. Old RCA tubes, original transformers. Inside the chassis there is a sticker indicating that it has been serviced but you can see from the photos that it hasn't been modified or monkeyed with. There are some small rips and tears in the tolex along with some cigarette burns and discoloration but the box is structurally sound. The Blonde look is also pretty killer with the metal Fender logo, gold grill, black face plate and white knobs. The knobs are a bit scratchy but not any more than a normal cleaning would fix. On the back there is a ground switch that helps limit noise from the two prong plug, fuse, power switch, stand-by switch, and two outputs. The Fender Bassman may have started its life as a bass amp but pretty early on guitarists got hip to the magic. From early blues and country pickers, to Pete Townshend, to today's players, a Bassman is a no-brainer choice for a great amp.
