Amp Auction: MESA BOOGIE LONESTAR, GUITAR COMBO , AMP PRIVATE RESERVE AAA FLAMED MAPLE 1X12

MESA BOOGIE LONESTAR, GUITAR COMBO , AMP PRIVATE RESERVE AAA FLAMED MAPLE 1X12 Amp Auction Description: This amp is just a little to heavy for me. I am approaching 55 years of age and find myself playing my Acoustic/electric thru my Rivera Sedona most of the time. I really hate to part with it . Having it,,I had the best of both worlds when your talking about tube amps. This Lonestar was one of the first ,award winning runs in 2004/06 . I am the second owner having bought this amp from Hoboken Vintage and Classic Guitars in New Jersey . I have had it app. 1 year. Due to the weight and being the nice wood cabinet, it has seldom left my music room. It is the 1X12 model, all original . It comes with manual, foot switch, foot switch cable, power cord, (is non detachable), and Slip cover. It currently has a new set of 6L6 Russian Grove tubes installed. It has the mounts for casters on the bottom but It didn't come with the wheels. The only scratches noticable are on the bottom . It is of cource used but in excellent condition. Upon very very close inspection, you can find a ding,,but you have to look hard. It looks like a show room amp from as little as 2 feet away. Another amp like this one sold for $1925.00 on Sept. 5th . The difference in the that amp and this one is the other amp had different knobs and was a 2X12 model. Item #120769313451 in completed auctions. I am a long time Ebayer having started out buying and selling acoustic amps to find the one that was right for me. The following are reviews I found and more information fron the net,,,,,,, Every once in a great while an amplifier comes along that really knocks you out. The Lone Star is one fabulous boutique-oriented, multifaceted, versatile, tone-spewing beauty, and it absolutely earns an Editors' Pick Award. Guitar Player Magazine, October 2004 Built for a lifetime of enjoyment and reliable operation, the Lone Star treats enthusiastic players to an absolute adventure in tone. Like Clint Eastwood in a spaghetti western, this is a well-mannered ass-kicker that blows away the competition with righteous unapologetic perfection. Angelic clean, classic inspiring overdrive, musical deep reverb and soul-melting high gain are all child's play for this Mesa. It doesn't get much better than this at any price.Eric KirklandGuitar World Magazine, Channel one was absolute clean bliss at lower gain settings, allowing tones suitable for anything from spanking country to warm, three-dimensional jazz. Turning up the gain made the Lone Star crunch hard and clip like a thoroughbred. Jazz-fusion players and Texas blues hounds will be thrilled by the soft sizzle and wavelike bloom that flows so effortlessly from the phenomenal circuit and 1x12 Classic cab. The reverb is astonishing, too: its gorgeous dripping echo is precisely what Mesa fans have patiently waited to experience.Channel two created an amazing range of alternate clean tones and filthy-cool punchy distortion flavors without the drive active. (Somebody tell Keith Richards that his amp is ready!) With drive switched into the circuit and the drive control dialed up, the Lone Star displayed a high-gain mood swing worthy of a pregnant rattlesnake. With everything but the master and presence dimmed, channel two delivered feedback in pitch, never stopped sustaining and never lost its definition, dynamics or touch sensitivity. Truly remarkable.
