Amp Auction Description: Untitled DocumentItem DetailsFor your consideration is this vintage 1966 Fender Vibrolux Reverb-Amp guitar amplifier with the original footswitch. This excellent original example is in very good-excellent cosmetic condition. While this amp looks as though it has been babied, and is quite nicely preserved, it was recently serviced to be used and enjoyed, and would make a great player's piece. Similar examples have sold for over $4,000.00 so take advantage of this No Reserve auction with FREE U.S.A. shipping and discounted International delivery, and own this one for less!Although the electrolytic caps were replaced, this Vibrolux retains all of the original components that matter; transformers, speakers, original circuit board parts, etc. The tolex and grill cloth are original and near pristine with no evidence of damage or modification, although, there is a strange and rarely observed color inconsistency in the grill cloth material that appears to be a factory defect. When the amp was thoroughly cleaned the grill cloth underwent a complete steam treatment that washed away all the dirt, grime and smoke residue. What remained was a perfectly straight line on the seam, that separated the silver and black part from the tan-hued and black part.Tube Chart Date Stamp: PC (March 1966)Transformer Codes: 606-551, -606-6-04, 606-6-02, --606603, Speaker Date Codes: 220603, 220601 (Jensen) The black vinyl tolex exterior is in excellent condition. The silver/black stripe grill cloth retains excellent structural integrity along with no visible rips, tears or structural deterioration. The control panel is also crisp and clean with only a few small blemishes. All of the hardware is in nice condition, the chassis is quite clean, with no evidence of damage, let alone signs of oxidation, or indications of leaky/exploded capacitors. The hardware on the exterior exhibits usual oxidation and surface rust.The Vibrolux Reverb Amp utilizes: (1) GZ34, (2) 6L6, (3) 7025, (2) 12AT7, and (1) 12AX7 through 2 x 10" Jensen Special Design Speakers. Both speakers are original, though the tubes have been replaced when the amp was recently serviced. This example is in excellent cosmetic condition and perfect working condition, and includes the original footswitch. It sounds incredible, and is one of the all-time best-sounding black-face Fender amps.
