It had Reverb, Tremolo, and 15 watts of pure rocking vintage tone power but only three preamp tubes and two EL-84 output tubes. I knew something could be built revolving around my favorite little tone generator, the 6V6. Amp Auction Description: You are bidding on a Peavey XXX head. This head has had the front panel switched to a clear acrylic front and looks very cool (i never liked the chrome "mud flap girl" front anyway). There is a problem with the Ultra channel, though. When you switch to it, the only knob that works is the Gain knob...but, the tone circuit and volume knob of the Crunch channel can control the tone. I can't figure it out, though i did not open it up, and i'm not an amp tech. The amp works great as a two channel amp. Clean hlannel is warm and punchy and actually very classic sounding. The Crunch channel can get crazy gain if you want it but it can do the AC/DC tone as well. Switch to the Ultra channel an you still get a nice volume boost and you can control the gain, but you will get the same tone settings that you have set for the Crunch channel. Good news is its cheep! And if all you need is a two channel amp anyway you are in luck. All tube, 4 EL34's and 4 12AX7's. Just please read anything you can find on this amp and it's overwhelmingly positive. This has everything you need to play live and get all the sounds and levels you want. This amp is from 2007 and has Mesa Boogie EL84s with plenty of life in them since this amp did not get much play. I'm not playing very much and have too much equipment so I'm just selling off this amp because it is pro quality and pro volume and I just sit around home and play. However once I discovered plugins for Pro Tools, I started recording everything direct and had no more use for this cab. I've played it a handful of times in my room.
